However, what is truly insane is thinking that we can do it all by ourselves. There comes a moment where we gotta face the music. We could all get by with a little help from our friends. At least that’s what the song says, right? So, when it comes to the creative work, the colorful, eye-catching and out of the box thinking, who are you going to rely on? Freakin’ ChatGPT?! I sure as hell hope not!

Look, as a designer you’d think I’d have some personal vendetta against AI but it really ain’t like that at all. In fact, I think AI can be an incredible tool that gives us all a place to start. But it should go without saying that tools like this are just that, TOOLS! While these tools can feel like a nice shortcut or a techy life-hack, it is most certainly not an end all, be all. Let’s be real, at the end of the day, it’s still mechanical. Art and design are a language, a method of communication full of zest, passion, soul, and is completely human. So, I’m going to be brutally honest with you here. When we depend solely on AI for these creative endeavors, it shows. I promise this isn’t me trying to shame you or anyone for having a clearly “AI made” asset, I’m more so trying to tell you that your asset will never feel quite finished. That is not until it receives the human touch. And that my friends, is where a design pro such as myself comes into the picture.
